Abstract

Natural goethite is a suitable inorganic sorbent for anions due to its high sorption capacity, large specific surface and surface positive charge. The sorption of As(V), Sb(V) and P(V) anions on synthetic goethite followed the Langmuir isotherm. The sorption was similar for As(V) and P(V); the affinity to goethite is considerably higher for Sb(V). The sorptions are competitive.
