Abstract

Organic tin compounds are toxic for aquatic organisms. They are persistent both in water and adsorbed on solids or sediments. In living bodies they cause various types of defects of internal organs or tissues, malformations and growth disorders. Analytical methods for determination of organic tin compounds are summarized and evaluated. At present GC techniques with MS detection systems are preferred.
