Abstract

Systematic nomenclature of oxoacids, their ions and the so called polyoxometalates is not settled in Slovak language yet. In this work we analyze issues that were introduced in nomenclature by noncontrolled artificial systematization of these names according to the English nomenclature recommended by IUPAC. We found out that the creation of systematic names of this group of compounds is not possible without breaking currently valid general nomenclature rules and we propose a novel method for naming of the anionic part of an acid. We therefore introduce the term "inner anion of an acid". We use additive nomenclature when naming this component of an acid. This nomenclature system enables one to unify the naming of all oxoacids, isopoly- and heteropolyacids, their derivatives and ions.
