Peptide Maps
Abstract
Peptide mapping is common technique used for studying proteins. Such methods can explain small changes in the structure of the protein molecule. The article deals with various types of methods which are used for this purpose. The article describes first hydrolysis of different enzymes or degradation with cyanogen bromide, then separation of peptide fragments (by chromatography and electrophoresis). Finally, the separated peptides are detected. The individual steps of the technique are reviewed.Downloads
