Abstract

The review deals with the separation of mixtures of gases and vapors using polymer membranes. Several types of separation membranes and mechanism of transport of gases or vapors through the membranes are described. The solubility-diffusion model together with the definition of transport parameters (permeability, diffusion and solubility coefficients) are explained.
