Abstract

Chlorophenols are widely used as herbicides, pesticides, and disinfection agents. The toxic materials are effectively degraded by electrochemical oxidation. Mechanism of their degradation, intermediates and degradation products depend on the used anode and reaction conditions. The article reviews the published works on electrochemical oxidation and oxidative transformation of chlorophenols and the influence of experimental conditions on their degradation.
