Abstract

Better detection limits for some analytes can be obtained by using an appropriate detection method combined with surface immobilization of the receptor. To immobilize analytically important receptors on the nanoparticle surface is often impossible because the receptors do not contain suitable functional groups. In this case various multifunctional spacers can be used in which one group is used for the nanoparticle surface binding and another for immobilization of a receptor. The article deals with modification of silver nanoparticles with various compounds containing different functional groups.
