Abstrakt

Laser ablation (LA) has been used as a direct solid-sample introduction technique in analysis of blast-furnace slags by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Pressed pellets containing slag and a binder, powdered Ag or a LiBO2 - Ag mixture and an internal standard are used. The LiBO2 mixture was found optimal. A linear calibration curve was obtained up to specified contents of metal oxides. As follows from comparison of different methods of analysis of blast-furnace slags, using reference materials and real samples, the LA ICP-OES is a suitable method for the purpose.
