Abstrakt

Macromolecular antidegradants are common antioxidants, UV-stabilizers or other protective compounds attached to polymer chains by covalent bonds. Similarly as their low-molar-mass analogs (precursors), they protect polymer materials against undesirable changes (e.g., decrease of molar mass, change of color etc.) due to ambient conditions (oxygen, light, UV radiation) but they do not evaporate and cannot be extracted or washed out from polymers. At present, these polymeric additives appear in publications, patents and technological studies more frequently than previously. The review describes selected syntheses of macromolecular antidegradants.
