On Tautomerism. The Story of Absolute Tautomerism, an Unique Phenomenon in Chemistry

Abstrakt

The problem of tautomerism is generally outlined together with the background of the discovery of absolute tautomerism in the zwitterionic 11-vertex nidotricarbaborane series. It was demonstrated that the same compound can adopt two different tautomeric structures, the isolation of which in pure state is possible. This phenomenon is the first example of a clean structural dualism in borane chemistry.
