Abstract

Membrane separations are widely utilized in many fields, including treatment of industrial wastewater. Recent development in membrane preparation enabled expansion of membrane technologies into two new fields – treatment of contaminated groundwater and polluted landfill leachates, where membrane units are exposed to complex operation conditions. This review provides a comprehensive report on membrane performance in the two fields.
