Abstrakt

On the occasion of the appointment of the analytical chemist Professor Jiří Zima as Rector of Charles University, this article provides an overview of chemists and personalities with a strong interest in chemistry who have held this highest university office. It demonstrates that education in analytical chemistry constitutes an excellent foundation and qualification for senior managerial and leadership positions.

U příležitosti nástupu analytického chemika prof. RNDr. Jiřího Zimy, CSc., do funkce rektora Univerzity Karlovy podává článek informace o působení chemiků či o chemii se věnujících osobností v této nejvyšší univerzitní funkci a ukazuje, že vzdělání v oboru analytické chemie je vynikající průpravou a výbavou i pro vysoké manažerské funkce.
